Private J. Donaldson

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

J. Donaldson enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Belfast on 11 June 1918 (Corps of Hussars No.72118). He was described as being 5' 6 ½" tall, with a fresh complexion and brown hair. He stated that he was 21 years old, was born in Ballymacarrett, Belfast, and worked as a farm labourer.

Donaldson was reported to have deserted from the regiment's reserve base at Antrim on 14 June 1918, just three days after he enlisted. It is not known if he was subsequentially apprehended.
